Mississippi candidate calls for mayors blocking Chick-fil-A getting “introduced to the Second Amendment”

[adrotate banner=”1″]In a totally peaceful way, I’m sure…

South Mississippi congressional candidate Ron Williams said mayors vowing to block new Chick-fil-A restaurants because the company’s president opposes gay marriage “need to be introduced to the Second Amendment ASAP.”

He later backtracked like a mofo:

Williams, a Libertarian candidate for the U.S. House District 4 seat, made that and other statements in a letter to the editor to the Sun Herald. But asked about the letter, he said his comments were “hyperbole, non clarity,” and that “I don’t want anybody to go shoot anybody, but I want people to understand what a slippery slope we can be on and what the purpose of the Second Amendment is.”

A quasi-trained MMA fighter whose mind was blasted on “purple drank”

But FreeRepublic is Not Racist…

To: SoFloFreeper
This case is about :

  • A quasi-trained MMA fighter whose mind was blasted on “purple drank” trying to kill a guy with no combat training.
  • The victim saving his own life and likely the lives of other people with a small pistol.
  • A rogue political party legitimizing a pair of race-hustling criminals by the names of Jackson and Sharpton.
  • An open threat of large numbers of brainwashed and ignorant people rioting and demanding a human sacrifice not to riot.
  • A desperate rogue-party president claiming that if he had a son, the son would look like an asshole, i.e. like the purple-dranked-out former MMA artist.
  • A rogue prosecutor and judge insisting on holding the victim in prison prior to trial for no rational reason and in fact seeking to force him to cop a plea to bullshit charges by threatening his wife with prison over more bullshit occasioned by themselves.

It’s also about the basic idea of equality in our society and the question of whether or not we now have special/protected groups of people who are legally untouchable to the extent that the rest of us can’t even defend ourselves when one of them goes crazy on drugs and tries to kill us.

The RNC is bad with computers!

The RNC can’t do anything right when it comes to doing things on the internet. From website to shining website, it is a parade of failure! Let’s go marching, shall we?

First of all, the RNC has itself a minority problem. We all know that, but thanks to the RNC, we now know that all minorities are interchangeable! Thanks to RNC Latino, who decided to use photos of Asian kids as its headline banner of Latinos. Whoops! At least we know who designed the website, Former Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle!

RNC Latino Asian Kids

This takes "all look same" to new heights of dumb!

The parade doesn’t stop there, because the RNC is honest. And by honest, I mean totally dishonest and completely stole a DNC website to use for their own! The best part of this is the website they are using it for is to say that Obama doesn’t have any ideas! This is the most ironic thing to happen since Alanis Morissette was killed by 10,000 spoons on her rainy wedding day.

Look out, Elected Officials! The Constitutional Oversight Posse is coming for YOU!

Our long national nightmare is over! Yes, once again, some guy with a website has declared that he’s not just one dude, but a whole angry mob of Real American Patriots who will Take Back America from the Godless Commie Marxist Socialist Muslims! This latest site is the Citizens For Constitutional Governance (CFCG), and just because they needed a different acronym for their group, they’re also The Constitutional Oversight Posse (COP). I can’t read that name without thinking of Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol. And like Police Academy 4, the Constitutional Oversight Posse is hilarious! So let’s meet the funny, and the people who will save us from anything that happened post-1860!

Your mission, COP agents, if you choose to accept it…

Mission: To hold to account any congressman, executive branch officer, or federal judge who violates the oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States.

The Constitution overrides the dictates of government officials. It carries the will of the people who ratified it. It may be changed by the amendment process only. It may not be changed by twisted interpretations of its words, by errant precedents set by disobedient judges, or by the pressure of a mob-rule majority.

I’m bolding the mob-rule majority section for later. But for now, let’s just realize the COP refuses to recognize interpretations of the Constitution it doesn’t agree with. This is a great out, because they can argue it’s totally for mandatory Christianity for all while screaming about the 2nd Amendment to the letter.

As the Declaration of Independence points out, it is the duty of the people to correct a government that persistently violates its charter. The government over the last century has demonstrated its inability to restrain itself from violating the Constitution. The government has been indulging in the exercise of powers that would never have been ratified by the prescribed amendment process. Congress, the Executive Branch, and the Supreme Court have all been complicit. To rectify this problem, the Constitutional Oversight Posse has been instituted by citizens of the United States to enforce the Constitution and to ensure that any government official so presumptuous as to try to override the will of the people who ratified the Constitution and its amendments shall be duly brought to justice.

And the COP are using the Declaration of Independence to justify taking up arms against the government. Let’s also like how the COP was instituted by “citizens of the United States” – aka one guy – and he now has more power than the entire rest of the USA because he says so.

The COP will grow its membership until it has at least one million signed members who are eligible to vote in the United States.

One million members!?!?! I’ll point out right here that even the largest Tea Party groups barely have this number, and of the two that claim it, one has a lot of legacy members from before the tea party existed (Americans for Prosperity – which I don’t count as a tea party group regardless no matter what they wrote on Wikipedia), and the other is spread out over thousands of “affiliates” who could easily be sending in inflated member counts. (Freedomworks – which also didn’t start as a tea party group and their tea party spinoff Tea Party Patriots has a considerably smaller roster. Freedomworks list of active volunteers is also lower at 600,000) Most of the other larger websites have realistic numbers of ~120,000-90,000.

But, sure, whatever, one million people, easy. Obviously COP has the experience needed to manage a group of that size.

Once the required membership level has been reached, the COP’s governing board will generate an initial list of violators: government officials who have violated or ignored the oath of office or who have participated in unconstitutional exercises of power. The board will then identify the congressmen who are legally responsible for initiating the impeachment and/or expulsion of the violators.

Ah, until they have a million people, they don’t have to do diddly squat! This is perfect! Then the “board” (aka the one dude) can just pick whoever he doesn’t like that week to target.

No arrest will be conducted without the participation, at the site of the arrest, of at least ten-thousand members of the COP and the assent of at least a majority of the remaining members of the COP. No assault and no physical restraint may be used on the arrested official. No armaments may be illegally employed in the arrest. Any restraints on an arrested official’s mobility will be within the limitations of the first-amendment right to assemble and within the customary guidelines for citizen’s arrests of persons displaying criminal behavior.

Oh, and they won’t arrest anyone until they have a mob of 10,000 to 1 odds of arresting the person. But they’re against mob rule, remember? Except when it is their mob, their rules.

The first major action of the COP after the membership surpasses one million people will likely be the issuance of an ultimatum to the chairman of the House Judicial Committee and to the Speaker of the House warning them that they will be subject to arrest unless they initiate within one month the impeachment and/or other legal proceedings required to remove from office Attorney General Eric Holder and President Barack Obama in a manner that will result, to the maximal extent, in the negation of the unconstitutional actions they have taken while in office. The COP will then use its threat of arrest to hand-hold each and every one of the representatives and senators through the most expeditious constitutionally-allowed process leading to expulsion of the accused.
The COP will thereafter continue to act as enforcer of the Constitution, managing the expulsion of one violator of the Constitution after another, thereby chastening an otherwise errant government and restoring the Constitution as the legitimate ruler of the United States.

As you can see, COP set a perfectly reasonable first target that totally won’t get them arrested for sending threatening letters to Congressmen.

Given the large backlog of violators of the oath and of the Constitution, the COP is likely to be a very busy organization. It will be a very productive organization, as well, because for every official arrested or expelled from the government there will be at least ten who will thereafter be careful not to cross the line.

We’re gonna be pretty busy, but luckily our mob rule will totally scare the politicians in line instead of getting a few of us arrested for threatening the president.

COP, folks! This Posse is on a collision course with justice! Or their site will be offline in a year when they forget to renew the hosting. But FREEDOM!!

Barack Obama has a Posse

Everyone please send whatever you are able to, whether it is $10, $100 or $1,000+. The DUmmies, Morons, Kos Kiddies and that crew are laughing up their sleeves. Jim may have to make this site members only or allow ads. Better for us to just help with what we can. Maybe you can donate as a memorial for a lost loved one, a servicemember who never made it home or was disabled defending our country. Perhaps you’d like to give to keep free discussion alive and to show them that we’re not knuckling under. I’m sure a well thought out or prayerful meditation will lead you to see the need and how you can help. If every registered FReeper and our lurkers would each just help out with a fin or a sawbuck, or better yet a Ben Franklin, we could put this to bed and get on with the conservative cause.

The complaints begin almost immediately against the current culture of fear and the Anti-Romney purgings on FreeRepublic.com

This primary season was really ugly and a lot of people, old and new, left because of the piling on or were banned. I even left for a while. It’s going to take a long time to heal those wounds. Lots of people will never come back and have found new homes at other forums.

That’s a major reason why the donations are down hard. Another reason is because people have been cutting their budgets because of the slow economy and inflation.

The owner has to find a way to survive and I, for one, don’t begrudge the use of ads if that’s the only way.

I believe that there used to be a model of free discussion here. But, the number of zots over opinion as opposed to violation of posting rules gives credence to those who say that this model has ceased to exist.

You know that I speak my mind. What you don’t know is that I have received well over a dozen messages in the past two years from freepers who said that they were afraid to post similar opinions for fear of being zotted.

That’s the fact of it…many long-time freepers do not feel “free” to discuss. I believe that the pendulum will swing back but in the mean-time FR will lose good people.

You people have gone over the line with me a number of times and I’ve had enough. I was going to shut up but I’ve decided to make a stand because there are more out here just like me, they’re just too afraid to stand up to you people.

The rest of the sane world is working to get rid of Obama, no matter what the cost is because the country you fought for cannot stand another four years of this.

Winning the Senate and the House is not enough because Obama has proven he will simply go around them. Yet it seems a vast majority here want to plant their feet in the ground and stand on some false sense of “no more RINOs, it stops here”.

Well, this isn’t the time for it. Lead, follow, or get out of the way.

You are so correct. I have been a member since 2001 and have always been quite loyal. However, the insults and constant badgering that is currently allowed has soured me on the site. Believe me I am extremely conservative, but feel that it is more important to remove Obama than anything else. That is obviously no longer the objective on this site. Instead it seems to be to insult anyone who believes as I do.

Because this site is supported by we who contribute, I don’t understand the thinking that only some peoples ideas can be heard. Of course, if I am an Obama backer I should be insulted and banned, but that is far from the case. It will unfortunately destroy the site. I am so sad, because I have always loved this site. i just don’t come here any more because of the insults.

Exactly. I still give a monthly donation, but mostly out of inertia.

“FR wants my money, but not my opinions” – that’s been my prevailing thought since I committed the apostasy of saying Romney gave a decent speech one night many months ago. Amazingly, I wasn’t summarily banned, but the rebuttals were quite rabid, and really were a game changer in my attitude towards the site, of which I’ve been a member off and on since the Clinton days. Add to that my non-Christian beliefs, and a profession that many here strongly despise, and it’s clear I don’t really belong.

I still come here for the news and the often entertaining reactions to it, but I no longer believe the local denizens represent the views of the vast majority of conservatives I know (fortunately), and I certainly no longer throw the raw meat of any serious opposition opinions to the self-righteous who control things here.

Many who might have provided financial support have literally been run off or banned, but an even greater number, I believe, have simply been alienated. The folks who run the site – officially and unofficially – are, of course, free to do so however they want, but it is naive to then also expect, after creating so much divisiveness, that a wide swath of conservatives are going to pony up donations out of a sense of good will.

To: DJ MacWoW
Continuing to support a socialist on FR is against the rules. There has also been outside influences at work here. It’s called trolling. The aim is to destroy FR. Why FReepers want to help that goal is beyond me but they are being influenced.

That boat won’t float. All the problems come from within this site. People know they have to fall in line or pay a price for it. These are self inflicted wounds.

This ping list has succeeded in getting many decent conservative contributing Freepers banned and driven many more from the site altogether.

DJ, I’m going to tell you something and it might be painful but sometimes the truth hurts. Wanna know something? When you and your ping list succeed in getting me zotted from FR, I’ll be able to go to any other conservative site on the internet, register under my current post name and be welcomed with open arms. FYI – GOPE is “GOP Establishment”

To: Ace of Spades

Go zot yourself. I can’t do it, nor do I want to. If you’re so miserable here and cannot bear the principles of the site owner, just leave. No one is stopping you.

This is a biased site. Advocating for someone with an anti-Conservative record like Gov. Romney’s is not allowed here. But to answer your question, yes. Free discussion is allowed here. If you want to point out the advantages of Conservatism and the errors and destruction of liberal progressivism, have at it, and welcome. But please do not pretend for a moment that Romney is a conservative, for he is not. He IS Obama lite as Jim has pointed out countless times with references to his voting and governing records, and YouTube videos of the socialism spewing out of his own mouth, which he later denies having said, but there it is for all the world to see. Why don’t you see it?

The candidacy of Gov. Romney is what Conservatives get for caving to the leftist GOPE all these years with their leftist candidates. Squishy centrists always lose to the real leftists, and strong Conservatives always win.

So, who do they field? Dole? GH Bush? McCain? And now Romney? Designated losers, all. McCain even admitted it in so many words, “You have nothing to fear from an Obama presidency.” And he allowed his advisers to destroy Gov. Palin, who was in the process of saving his campaign when all the made-up “dirt” came out about her. Republicans under the GOPE lose the presidency, and all goes back to business as usual in Washington, where the Republican and Democrat elites have their little soirees and hobnob and rub elbows with their leftist cohorts in the big Washington Power Cabal.

It’s disgusting, and we must stop it before it destroys us. See? That is why we are so passionate about this issue.

Those of you who have been reading FR for all these years and are acting shocked that I would not support Romney must have missed my hundreds of posts on our purposes here.

Just a reminder:

FR is and will remain until my dying day a pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-constitution, pro-liberty, pro-tea party site.

Romney is none of the above.

Plus he lies a lot.

Obama is the very worst Democrat ever. Romney is the very worst Republican ever.

Either way we get the very worst for America.

FR has been in anti-RINO rebellion mode since RudyMcRomney hit the presidential scene six or seven years ago. We made an exception for McCain in 2008 because he was at least pro-life, a veteran, and he chose Sarah Palin, but we all swore we’d never make that mistake again.

How soon we forget.

Anyone who thinks I will support an abortionist, homosexualist, gun-grabbing, liberal judge appointing, mandate loving Keynesian statist for president, obviously does not know me. At all.

If my anti-abortion, anti-homosexualist, anti-statist stand causes some of our long term members to leave us, I hope we can at least part as FRiends.

Jim, your resistance is falling apart due to desertions and summary executions. And you have nobody to blame but yourself.

Your stand is well-documented and I haven’t seen a single person here who disagrees with the core of it.

But this site has become a pale shadow of what it once was. Once conservatives of varying degrees were free to discuss openly and intelligently. Now anyone who diverges even slightly from the mob’s opinion is openly insulted, often by you personally, often in disgusting and degrading terms.

Why anyone of even moderate intelligence would want to be a part of this anymore is beyond me. I do not. Please disable my account.

Well, Jim, my old friend, it’s time to part ways. You can go ahead and “zot” me as well. I’ve been thinking about this situation here, and it seems to me I’ve been sitting on the fence. You’re right. Rebellion IS afoot. I can no longer support any site or any person who is openly working to keep the illegal alien, communist dictator wannabe Obama in office.

My ancestors who fought in the Revolutionary War, and just about every war ever since, did not fight, and in some cases die, so that a dangerous fraud like Obama can take our country down. A conservative site that won’t support the Republican on the ballot—well, it’s something else, not conservative.

I think it’s time to thank you for all the many good discussions over the years, wish you the best, and say goodby.

However, to most of the mods, I can only say, glad to be on my way. I will not miss these, not one bit.

To: mojitojoe

This thread is the very evidence of why this site is no longer the conservative site of choice to donate to or post in. This site is no longer conservative. Good FReepers are sick of the gestapo IN clique that sickly controls and attacks anyone that does not tow their every thought. Many are afraid to post. It was out of hand months ago and now it is just down right abusive hateful behavior. They ping each other to bully someone and then ping a special list to WATCH the zot? If the time spent that they waste doing this was put towards exposing fast and furious or REAL activism this site would be booming again.

I watched Perry,Bachmann,Santorum get trashed by the IN CROWD CLIQUE. And now the IN clique gestapo ping list has the audacity to act as if Newt Gingrich is any different than Romney? Both Gingrich and Romney are reformed RINO’s.AKA GOP e.

Have you ever noticed the IN crowd clique never posts in other conservative threads? Why does it seem like they post in the FReepathon thread with cutesy graphics while they are attacking like banshees from hell in all other threads?
I am sick of the long winded speeches saying Romney is pro abortion when three pro life, damned good, conservative candidates were trashed ON THIS FORUM like DU trolls trash conservatives.Go look at Romney’s official issues. He is pro life now. Just like Gingrich is pro-life now. They both reformed supposedly. What makes one better than the other? And don’t waste time posting long posts with links of how evil and bad Romney is. I could do the same exact thing with Gingrich and the facts would be found in this forums archives.

Nobody is shocked that you refuse to support MR as the GOP nominee. Most, if not all of us here fully understand and agree.

The rebellion you are seeing on this thread is not against you or your position on Mitt.

The rebellion is against those here who clothe themselves in your position and villify any freeper who sees a different path to saving the country.

The Mitt thing is just the most recent cause celebre for these folks. Before that it was Newt or Santorum or Cain or Bachmann or Palin (where it started). They hide in your shadow and attack those who they feel you would disagree with – sometimes in the vilest manner (accusations of NAMBLA membership, death wishes…). They ping their compadres and it becomes a relentless mugging.

These freepers seem to feel empowered as long as they can say – “The boss says this” or “This is Jim’s site and he says…”. They feel that their hand will not be slapped, regardless of how flagrantly and frequently they violate posting rules.

It is these freepers, not your opinions, that have driven good freepers away.

I pinged those who have agreed with me on this thread. They are all good, long-term freepers and there are a couple with whom I have never communicated before in 11 years here.

It would be a mis-reading if you were to take this as a personal affront. It is not. It is a revolt against those who act in your name, to the ultimate detriment of your site.

Like I said I voted for Rick Santorum, and I’ve repeatedly said my current goal is fighting the recall against Governor Walker.

I just am pissed about the personal attacks. Very childish, makes the poster seem uneducated as they can’t debate using rhetorical responses, they use F bombs or pictures of retarded children. Guess that just reflects how they are as a person.

Yes, I had support but was also persecuted, harangued, and insulted daily by those with Palin derangement syndrome. Finally zotted a few of them after Palin said she would not run, yet they continued to harass her and her supporters. And yes I am aware that the same thing happened to those who supported Bachmann, Cain, Perry, Santorum and Gingrich. I stated many times that I would be happy with any one of those conservatives and unsuccessfully cautioned people not to drive them all out. Every support group from every candidate viciously attacked the supporters of other groups.

Very few clean hands in this fiasco. I told the complainers that it would have to run its course. Though I feared it’d end up the way it did. Too many wannabe conservatives in the race, only one rich lying GOP officially backed and anointed RINO. He is the one they’ve been waiting for.

LibLieSlayer screams about the GOPE

To: Deek
Deek they hate us. We do not have a seat at the table today. We will not have a seat at the table at the convention… unless war on the floor breaks out. The only way that we can make ourselves a seat at the table is if we cause enough problems and are loud enough to inflict enough pain on the gop/e that they will finally take us as a serious and indispensable part of the gop. Right now they despise us… they call us names and make fun of our movements (TEA Party). The recent gop/e meeting that took place is replete with evidence to prove what I say is true. Rush Limbaugh has said that he has personally been told by gop leaders that they despise us… that they are embarrassed by us… that they do not want us at their events or conventions… that their “wives are embarrassed to be seen with them”. They hate us for being moral and trying to obey GOD’s laws… they hate us because “we hold certain truths to be self evident”… their truth is in power and money.
The only way to win is to emulate what the left has done… they have made themselves so loud and formed things like the green party and backed people like ralph nader and lost some elections… but today… they stand on the cusp of instituting Stalin’s dream. The gop is not our party… they do not represent us… they do not like us… but they must have our votes and our money… we demand a seat at the table… we have been denied and lied to long enough. Goldwater and Reagan forced us a place at the table… but then our chair was given to moderates and independents and pro abortionists and gay activists and yes… mexican invaders.

W-Girl throws down the gauntlet with the post of the thread.

To: Jim Robinson; All
My story —

I joined FR in Nov 2005 and my last post was Dec 2011, prior to this one. I joined all the others here today who have finally been able to voice their opinion without being instantly banned, ambushed, embarrassed or rudely ridiculed.

I always enjoyed reading the threads and posts, more than commenting myself, for the information, of those who may not be familiar with my pen name. My favorite hang out was always the Sunday Morning Talk Show Thread but I expressed my dismay in December 2011 to the host of the site, AB, and asked him to stop sending me pings. At that time, I expressed how horrified I was at the vicious and vile attacks against other members and the primary candidates who were not “PURE” to the powers that be here.

My views on the Republican primaries has always been ABO because I have children and grandchildren and wanted better for them like my parents wanted better for me. I consider Obama and the Progressives a bigger threat to this Country than Osama Bin Laden ever was. Yes, I was disappointed that some of the serious Republicans out there did not enter the race, but to be honest, I never thought Palin was a serious candidate. My candidate eventually became Romney because it became clear, he was the only one able to defeat Obama with the organization and money that it takes to run a general election. So that is where I stand politically.

I also, as my name may indicate, still support G W Bush and have not appreciated the vile opinions against him on FR. I believe he will, in years to come along with Cheney, be appreciated and recognized for the strong foundation and intelligence they created after 9/11 that still keeps us safe to this day. He was a modest man and should have spoken up for himself and not let the Progressives lie and define him. Maybe we would not have Obama today if he would not have worn himself out so soon.

To Jim Robinson and All His Czars —

I realize the purpose of this thread is to raise money so let me express my views on the finances here.

I have contributed in the past, when I naively assumed, the place was some sort of non-profit membership organization with transparency. It is only recently, that I learned, the place is set up as a privately 100% LLC owned by Jim Robinson with NO transparency. He provides only a “BUGDET” in other words meaningless information. The Budget “said” $1,200 (last time I looked) now it says $1,000 is required every quarter for legal and accounting services. For that kind of money, you would think you would get something more than a meaningless budget. SO HOW MUCH DOES JIM ROBINSON REALLY COLLECT HERE ??? It appears he does a good job of BEGGING for money but he is not honest enough to report how much he “actually” collects and what his “actual” expenses are. So my next question is HOW MUCH DOES JIM ROBINSON STICK IN HIS POCKET and pay his loyal czars to keep their mouth’s shut ?? Without any transparency on the finances, we can only assume, it is paying off BIG for Jim Robinson and his ELITE SUPPORTERS & workers !!

The “Budget” also shows $13,500 in administration, management and taxes which appears to be 46% of the budgeted expenses. Does no one, but me, dare to ask what the hell that is ?? If total revenues are over $300,000 on an annual basis, then 46% of $300,000 or over $300,000 is a serious slush fund to the owner when some donors state they donate “small amouts” because that is all they can afford.

Another point on FR finances and vulgar attacks on Romney. How many of you know Jim Robinson is also on Twitter under the name of @DEFEAT ROMNEY ?? It’s set up as a Spam account because there are posts made on this twitter site every few minutes 24/7 over 58,000 tweets last time I looked. How much money is diverted from FR donations to support the technology to spam tweets 24/7 against Romney ?? Most of the tweets against Romney, like here, are made up lies more vile, vulgar and disgusting than any Obama loving Marxist could post.

I expect my post to be deleted. But, I would ask all those who do donate here to reconsider what they think they are supporting. I believe Jim Robinson has gone off the deep end and taken others who are easily swayed, senile or are monetarily benefiting with him !!

I no longer have any respect for Jim Robinson. I believe he is a “purest” hypocrite, he obviously likes YOUR MONEY but DOESN’T WANT your opinions if they are NOT the same as his.

I say, in closing, SHUT THE PLACE DOWN !! It will never be the same and it has turned into a VILE, VULGAR and DISGUSTING place to visit thanks to the “owner” !!

There is a BIG difference between Romney and Obama and I will do my best to defeat Obama !! I just never thought I would be working against the HATEFUL FEW on Free Republic.

I’m sad to see what FR has become and truly miss what it used to be. If I get zotted for speaking my mind that is fine, I don’t post anymore and rarely read the comments because who wants to read the same thought over and over again. There isn’t any free speech on FR these days and I am not into having free opinion stifled. Reading the same “approved” opinions over and over again is boring.

I have not read the entire thread. I cannot. TOO painful. I found this post which expresses my felling very well and will tag a few thoughts on.

I LOVED this place for a very long time and once said that I had never met a Freeper I didn’t like. You, your wife, and son are among those folks Jim and nothing has changed in that regard as far as you are concerned but, sad as it is, those days are gone and it saddens me more than you can imagine. I very much preferred the FR of 1998 (flame wars and all) to the FR of today. Back then this was a crucible where ideas of every stripe were melted down and refined. Today it is nothing more than a boring echo chamber and I have rarely posted on the main forum for quite some time now.

This place belongs to you Jim and you have every right to do with it as you wish. I have never said anything other than that from day one but I must confess to you that I no longer find FR WORTH contributing to sad as that is. And one more thing before I go. I don’t like Mitt Romney any better than you do but I WILL vote for him in November! The alternative is just too horrible to contemplate.

If you are in a bannin mood it would appear that you have lot of work to do.

Plenty of Freepers see the folly of the poor sending away their money…And Wolfstar posts actual server costs for people to see they don’t cost anywhere near the $94,000 Jim wants this quarter

To: Quix
I will likely donate half my tithes for this month when my $361 social security check posts on my bank.

Quix…my Lord!!!! Don’t spend a penny here. Use that $361 a month for things you need or, if you must, give to your church or other local charity.

Don’t you know what a fraud FR has become? $94,000 a calendar quarter for a website?! That’s $376,000 a year. I have worked in the information systems field since 1988, so know whereof I speak.

Where is the public accounting? Where are these supposed new servers we keep hearing about? Do you know that Dell PowerEdge enterprise-class servers (to use one example) are cheap? You can buy rack-type servers for as low as $599, tower-type servers for $399, and blade servers for $1034. Dell’s high-end servers start at $4360. In other words, about $10,000 to $15,000 will buy two top-of-the-line servers. So where are they?

Here’s a link to Dell’s server web page. People can research this information for themselves.

FR’s programming is 1996-vintage. It does not need massive enterprise-class servers to run. In addition, web hosting costs have come way, way down since 1996.

The low-end $399 Dell server has up to absolutely massive 12TB(squared) of storage. That’s terabytes. One terabyte = 1000 gigabytes, or 1 trillion bytes. Even if they’ve saved every thread ever started on FR since 1996, and every private message, no way would such simple HTML data consume the storage of two servers, each with 12TB*squared) storage.

Please, Quix, your $361 is much more important in your real life than it is on this fantasy called Free Republic.

The real question is what do you stand for…
Ummm…no, sugarplum, that’s not the “real” question. If there is a question about stands, it has already been answered. The core FR crowd is for Obama’s reelection. Simple.

You know darn right well what conservatism is and don’t bother playing games here with me about it. God given inalienable rights, as our Founding Founders understood, stated, fought for and died for, as embodied in the Declaration of Independence.

It’s as I thought. You don’t know how to define “real” conservatism, so you attack. Shrug.

You should learn a little history, though. The Founders were not whatever the modern interpretation of “real” conservatives is according to FR. The modern terms “conservative” and “liberal” didn’t exist 236 years ago and have no application to the Founders or the times in which they lived. They were men and women of The Enlightenment. They were — horrors — the elites and intellectuals of their day. Their ideas were truly radical for the time. In fact, in the period and context in which they were created, both the Declaration and Constitution were the most radical political documents ever written.

The core cabal here at FR hasn’t a clue about what the kind of radicalism of the Founders means even in our times, let alone how critical it is for us to conserve the Founders’ ideas and legacy. What is on display at FR these days is an ugly totalitarian impulse that is the antithesis of their legacy.

Go ahead. Ping your little coven of nasties. Have me “zotted.” Makes not a whit of difference to me. You people don’t pay my bills, or put a roof over my head, or do anything of substance in my life. You haven’t got the intellectual firepower to go toe-to-toe with me in a debate, nor the simple comprehension that it would take to figure out that what you people are is anything but politically akin to the Founders.

Which parts of her posts to you find most useful, insightful, accurate, respectful to the owner and to the site that this thread is about?
I think that a lot of posts on this thread tonight have been a long time coming. I know they have been for me. Your post about choking kittens was particularly disturbing to me – like you were projecting your own warped thoughts.

Now you’re trying to deflect it to Wolfstar – but your post is there for everyone to see. Creepy stuff.

You know the truth about the equipment being ordered.
I do? That’s news to me. Somebody must have slipped that “truth” right by me.

If you can get the equipment so much cheaper…

Hey…anyone got around $400 to spare can go to the Dell website themselves and buy an enterprise-class server with tons of capability. It’s no mystery. It’s not hard. And I should think $94,000 should cover two of them pretty darned easily. Ain’t rocket science.

Oh, wait. Scratch that last. Forgot that FR is anti science. Ooops. My bad.

Now what was that about a case of projection? Oh yeah…I warned some poor soul with $361 living money to not spend a penny here, and gave sound, factual, independent reasons as to why. That drew your venom because you projected it as a threat to…what, exactly. Hmmmm…? If FR and its core nasties can’t handle simple human decency, well maybe it has outlived its usefulness.

Have the costs of FR ever been posted? It is a simple forum web site. How much does it cost to run?

Well there is a “budget”. I think the GSA has one of those too. : ),

But then let there be no mistake, Free Republic is a privately held Limited Liability Corporation for profit entity so is under no obligation to disclose its actual financials to anyone save for the IRS and the State of California. Then again, it operates much like a not for profit in that all income is generated from “donations”. So it would be nice to see an actual working budget and an actual budget vs. actual expenses posted. I don’t think that’s too much to ask for when asking for donations. I think a lot of us (especially the bean counters like me) would be a lot more comfortable donating if we had a better idea of how the donations were actually spent. Not that I think that Jim and others who run the site aren’t entitled to an income, nor would it matter if that figure was known, but the budget is so lacking in any sort of detail as to make it meaningless.

For instance, there is a line item in the budget for “Travel Expenses” at $1,200 per month. Really? $14,400.00 per year on travel? Why does an HTML website require $14,400.00 per year in travel expenses? That’s twice the amount budgeted for Equip, Maintenance and Repairs.

As far as the need for new servers and “equipment”, it would be nice to see a real estimate and detailed budget for what is actually needed. As someone else pointed out, commercial grade servers are pretty cheap now days. Heck my nephew in law recently bought a very nice used but relative new and working commercial grade server for a couple of hundred bucks off of eBay.

I followed the “The donors are donors not owners. We don’t sell shares in the company. That would be a violation of securities law.”

But the “That’s not the way the founding fathers set it up, it’s just another way the Democrat tyrants (aided and abetted by the Republican tyrants) have of attempting to control us and deprive us of our God given rights to self-governance and the pursuit of Happiness (economic freedom). Look it up.”… I don’t follow.

The founding fathers created a nation, not a LLC.

Though, if you view donations as taxes, then the donors are kinda rebelling right now… saying “No taxation without representation”.

Now, I do understand that donations are voluntary. But with longtime (read: posters from the ’90s) posters getting ZOTTED left and right, many are leaving. That leaves you with a problem.

Which is that you now have a shrinking pool of people from which to request donations. And considering the site has lost roughly 10% of it’s traffic in the last three months, that problem is going to snowball.

Tie into that the fact that the Freepathons have slowed down quite a bit, and you’d have to conclude that those 10% you’ve lost contained a good number of your donors.

See your stats at: http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/freerepublic.com#trafficstats

Blackirish puts everyone on blast as well

To: All

it’s been a really long time since I posted. I stopped after the Giuliani purge a long time ago. I used to be a regular Freeper and post articles and comment a lot …I had FRiends here. Then the Guliani purge. Really this was nothing compared to that. If anyone posted a positive article on Rudy dozens of the same attack dogs would rip Rudy supporters. It was the same thing one pack of purists could not spew enough venom. It got so bad that I guess Jim just decided to end it all by having the famous bug zapper thread where lots and lots of cool posters were zotted while the anti-Rudy mob just kept cheering. I’m not sure why I wasn’t zotted but I didn’t opus out or anything I just left and thought I’d come back but never really did.
Well I guess it worked. The cool kids beat the shit out of the Rudy supporters got them zotted and then cheered while they were shown the door. I don’t think FR was ever really the same after that. Go back to that thread and see how many good Freepers were zotted, it’s lot’s and lot’s.
Well Rudy didn’t even try to run in so-con states and when he couldn’t win FL he was done. That left McCain who couldn’t punch himself out of wet paper bag and he got mopped up by the hopey changy fraud.
Had Rudy been the nominee during the crash he would have prolly beaten obama. Voters knew he could handle a crisis and he could also fight back unlike the hapless McCaine. But we’ll never know.
The SAME argument that was used against Guliani by the Purists is now being used against Romney. That a moderate Repub is WORSE then a a democrat because he’s a trojan horse ..slow poison… blah …blah …blah socialist…abortionist…blah blah the country and the GOP would be better off being taught a lesson…blah…blah.
Well the Purists got EXACTLY what they wanted. A FOR REAL,FOR REAL hard core leftist/feminist American hating, anti-capitalist who wants to “fundamentally change” this country.
Well it’s working. He’s willing to ruin the economic lives of a generation to reach the dims goal of some bizarre utopia where where we live on 15nth century technology …windmills and solar.
Have jack booted thugs running the EPA who want to “crucify” energy producers or anyone else who get’s in their way…..have any of you read about the obama enemies list who want to blackmail doners to the GOP?
Have mandated health care which was drafted by Nancy Pelosi.
We had a worthless trillion dollar stimulus drafted by Nancy Pelosi.
We now Krugman economic plan that we can never tax too much nor spend too much nor regulate enough.
There is no problem that can’t be solved by an army of bureaucrats with unlimited powers with a billion dollars of taxpayer money.
TSA thugs assaulting crippled children and little old ladies in wheelchairs.
Trample over the fundamental over the right of freedom of religion and if a peep is raised hysterically scream you’re declaring a “War on Woman” in fact make everything a “War on Woman”….a budget…student loans…you name it.
Sotomeyer more hard core feminests on courts.
And in his own words when he thought the mike was off “JUST WAIT TILL AFTER THE ELECTION”!!!!!!!
jeez! then he and michelle and nancy pelosi and kathryn seblelious can REALLY start kicking the shit out of us.

This was all just the warm up.

Well I have personally suffered under these maniacs. In 08 job was gone and at 50 years old I’m standing in line with my resume in a stupid suit behind 500 other guys. I’ve burned through my savings sold my car and have had to take shitty job after shitty job. I was making more money at 25. ..and then to get a job it was easy just ask around….now it’s …well. I’m not gonna get these years back.

To those who say Guliani or Bush or Romney would be the same or worse than obama have not personally suffered under this regime ..their retired or wealthy or who knows… I’m not sure if their posts are parody or clueless ..some even seem right out of DU. When you get far enough out there it can be hard to tell what side you’re on. …but they really seem pretty far left in wanting to “punish”…people who don’t think like them. They call Guliani and Romney marxists!! Has even one of them looked up the definition of Marxism or socialism??? Or is it a smear they use just like the left cries “racism” or “gay basher” to silence opposition?

There is a huge difference between Romney and a hard core like obama. At least we can hold Romney’s feet to the fire like we did W’s during the Miers fiasco. With obama all you’re gonna get is a boot in the face.

So when Romney say’s “hold on a little longer” “I’ll build the Keystone pipeline myself”

Heck I wanna give the guy a chance. …..NO WAY it could be worse….but that’s just me and I ain’t gonna change any minds here….bye

Col Freeper tells everyone not goosestepping behind JimRob to STFU

To: 2ndDivisionVet; Jim Robinson
Well 2DV, I finished reading this gnormous thread and have come to the following conclusion:

Jim might as well give up on FR. It’s days of remaining life are few in number.

Because there are literally hundreds of individuals who can take a couple of hundred dollars, buy a used server off E-Bay and Shazaam! — there will be hundreds of newer, better FRs.

And each and every one of them will immediately get ALL of the members currently contributing to, or freeloading from, FR to come over and sign up. These transferring individuals will all be able to sign-up at every one of the hundreds of newer, better FRs because — they won’t have to contribute any real money — the operating costs at every site will be so low.

Advertisers are guaranteed to fight each other to sign up to advertise at these newer, better FRs because — well just because they will! Everybody knows they will!

And everyone will get along wonderfully with each other at all of these wondrous new sites? After all the only reason people don’t get along on FR is because of Jim and his silly “principles”, that are forced on everyone by his jack-booted, brown-shirted “Mods”. The new sites will be la-la lands of smiling, happy customers, singing “cumbaya” and “If I could buy the world a Coke”!

So Jim might as well accept it and either give up and shut down FR completely, or accept the fact that FR will just become a backwater hobby site for him and John, with a few “far right wing crazies” posting about “Principles” and other things nobody really cares about when push comes to shove.

As best I can guess from reading all the posters on this thread, Jim has maybe 2-3 weeks before all the new and improved, “one-day to setup” FR sites blast their way onto the Innertoobs, and zoom their way up the web-site ratings charts.

Soooo, either FR and Jim’s efforts will soon die, or …. there are a lot of whining, complaining, wannabees who would rather just keep FR around, reading its content without contributing a cent, and spending their time telling Jim how they could do it better, faster, cheaper, with high quality -like the old days, yadda, yadda, yadda, and who will NEVER, EVER get around to actually firing up those hundreds of newer, better FRs.

But, surely they really, really mean to get those $200 sites fired up pronto, don’t you think 2DV?

Let’s keep our eye out for these new FRs. If you spot them first, let me know, and I’ll do the same for you, ok?

JimRob still won’t support Romney FUMR

To: WPaCon

Well, my friend, it appears you have some serious issues with the way I run FR and the goals I’ve set for this site. If you do not know by now that I am pro-life, pro-family, pro-liberty, etc, and that the abortionist/homosexualist/statist Mitt Romney will never be acceptable to me as a presidential candidate then you’re nuts. And if you think I’m going to open up FR as an all inclusive, big tent abortionist/homosexualist/statist site just to increase our hits you’re doubly nuts. And if you think I would do any of the above for money you’re triply nuts.

My positions on God, life, family, liberty and country are non-negotiable and not open to debate. They are what they are and they’re posted on our front page and at the top of every index page: “Welcome to Free Republic, America’s exclusive site for God, Family, Country, Life & Liberty conservatives!”

You must’ve seen this when you registered and or when you login every day, so if you wish to walk some other path, I don’t know why you bother signing in.

So I’ll repeat for your benefit which I’ve posted many times before, if you find FR is not your cup of tea, just move along because we’re not changing it to suit you.

As with all anti-freepers now harping from the peanut galleries, we got a long fine before we met you, we’ll get along fine without you.

But just to show there are no hard feelings if you do go, I’ll leave you with this parting message:

To: Jim Robinson

No, Jim, I don’t have any hard feelings at all, and I’m not an anti-freeper or retread.

I still love this site and all it has done to help me understand today’s world of politics, and I am not asking you to change your principles. I just question some of this site’s strategy in promoting these principles, and many of my complaints have nothing to do with you or management.

I’ll probably take a long break after posting this and may never come back again, but in the meantime, I sincerely wish you good luck in keeping this site afloat.

It was nice while it lasted.

The best part of this thread I saved for last. The fighting and arguing caused JimRob to lower the amount of money for the goal for the Freepathon! Or maybe it was a way to move the goalposts so they don’t come up embarrassed when the next quarter begins and this Freepathon is still going. Whatever the real reason, you can be sure that Mitt Romney and Anti-Freepers and liberal trolls will be blamed…

Well, I’ll tell you what I’m going to do. I’m going to remove the other half of our equipment fund from our current freepathon goal and we’ll make other plans. It’s not worth the hassle. If all the people who say they’re leaving FR actually leave, we may be able to get by with less anyway.

Thank you very much, DJ MacWoW!! I’m sure you are correct. But we will push on without the equipment fund. It’s just not worth the hassle.

Woo hoo!!

And this just in:

$10.00 from North Carolina
$10.00 from Never Never Land
$20.00 from California
$50.00 from Never Never Land
$20.00 from South Carolina
$35.00 from Ohio
$50.00 from Virginia
$20.00 from Tennessee
$100.00 from Georgia
$30.00 from Indiana

Thank you all very much!!

And we’re now over THIRTY-FIVE percent!!

Metapedia – the Antisemitic Encyclopedia anyone can edit!

Metapedia is the free antisemitic encyclopedia of choice for people who think Conservapedia is too controlled by the Secret Zionist Agenda! Let’s get us some nice choice quotes from Metapedia so we can be properly introduced to how the Jews run everything, even Wikipedia!

I don’t even know how crazy you have to be to think Jews invented the term Nazi

Did you know that…

…words like Nazi, anti-semite and conspiracy theory were all created by Jews as a means of thought control?

Of course, why not? Let’s just blame Mossad for every unsolved crime ever, including the time this guy stole a candy bar from my backpack in 3rd grade!

Did you know that…

Israel’s Mossad was responsible for the 2001 anthrax attacks?

The so-called agitation movement…

Martin Luther King Jr. …

was a leader of the so-called American Civil Rights Movement. King was successful in organizing Negros in marches and demonstrations in ending segregation in the South. King’s racial agitation was ended with his assassination in Memphis, Tennessee in 1968 by James Earl Ray.

Let’s check in on their Obama article…

Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to a Muslim, black African father from Kenya, Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., and a white American mother, Stanley Ann Dunham. According to divorce records they were married on February 2, 1961 in Maui. However, no guests attended the “ceremony” and there were no witnesses to the alleged marriage.[1] Also no marriage certificate has yet to appear.

Keep in mind, in this case Metapedia is less crazy than Conservapedia. From their entry on Obama:

Barack Hussein Obama II also known by the name Barry Soetoro during his time in Indonesia[1] (born August 4, 1961, probably in Kenya)

Metapedia may be crazy, but they aren’t Birther Crazy!

At the time one of Obama’s acquaintances and close friend of his grandfather was Frank Marshall Davis, a communist sympathizer and sexual degenerate. Davis and Obama had something of a father-son relationship and together sold cocaine on the beaches of Hawaii.

Okay, maybe they are that crazy…

Community Organizing is Jewish Communism!

Saul Alinsky

Known for So-called “community organising”. To control and incite certain groups for the antisocial whims of Judeo-communism.

Jewish human organ harvesting

But don’t worry, they love Ron Paul!

Unfortunately much of the content is still just copied from Wikipedia. But give Metapedia time to fully warp things into their own worldview, and it will soon become a much richer place to mine ridiculous things from!
